4. Sharing & processors
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share only as needed:
- Service providers (processors) – hosting/CDN, analytics (with consent), email/newsletter, CRM, security monitoring.
- Business transfers – mergers, acquisitions, or financing.
- Legal – where required to comply with law or protect rights/safety.
We maintain DPAs with processors and require appropriate safeguards. All processors are engaged under written Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) requiring confidentiality, data-minimization, and security controls equivalent to ISO 27001 Annex A and SOC 2 criteria.
5. Security
- Encryption TLS in transit; industry-standard at rest.
- Access controls role-based, MFA for staff, least privilege.
- Monitoring firewalls, anomaly detection, logging.
- Reviews periodic risk assessments and team training.
Incident response: If a breach likely impacts you, we will notify you without undue delay and meet applicable timelines.
5.1 Compliance Frameworks
TrendGuard’s security and privacy controls are designed in alignment with internationally recognized standards, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). While formal certification is planned as part of our 2027–2028 roadmap, our current practices already reflect these frameworks’ core principles—risk assessment, access management, encryption, audit logging, incident response, and continuous improvement.
Security controls are reviewed through periodic internal audits and vulnerability assessments. External audits will be conducted as part of TrendGuard’s formal SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification program.
6. Retention
| Data | Default retention | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact & comms | 3 years from last interaction | History & compliance |
| Newsletter | Until you unsubscribe + 30 days | Preference management |
| Analytics (aggregated) | 13 months | Trend analysis |
| Security logs | 12 months | Threat detection |
Retention schedules are reviewed annually as part of our internal controls program (aligned with ISO 27001 A.5 and SOC 2 CC6.1) to ensure data is not kept longer than necessary.
